Dancing Crane Shiatsu

Helping regulate the nervous system to ease pain, reduce stress, and restore deep balance through Shiatsu massage, Yoga Therapy & health Coaching.

“The first wealth is health”. We all know this in our bones, yet for many people, neurodivergent folks in particular, the constant stimulation speed and stress of modern life can leave the nervous system feeling flooded and overwhelmed. We know a regulated nervous system is the ground of good health, and yet we live chronically dysregulated. With our vitality and natural delight diminished, we don’t feel at home in our bodies. We tire more easily. It’s difficult to find that wholesome easy happiness that was the baseline as a youngster. Chronic stress can creep up through work life/home life and manifest itself in many ways. After work Netflixs becomes the choice over dancing. As they say in Africa “you don’t stop dancing cause you’ve aged, you age because you stopped dancing”. In Chinese medicine the body and mind are inseparable: when we are out of balance that manifests in the physical body as:

Low energy

Inflammation

Poor Digestion

Poor sleep

Pain

Brain fog

And in the mental body as:

Reactivity

Depression

Mental health issues

reduced motivation, resilience and stamina

Proliferating or invasive thoughts

The ADHD nervous system can dovetail with chronic illness in ways that profoundly affect both physical and mental health. “We run hot”… and can easily burn out and collapse. We struggle with energy by three and reach for coffee or sugar. Our nervous systems are wired with a little “extra” and it takes more energy and emotional labour to find equilibrium.

When the nervous system is already working hard to manage ADHD, chronic pain, fatigue, dysautonomia, or other chronic conditions, our window of tolerance may become narrower. Everyday demands that seem manageable to others can require significantly more energy, making it easier to tip into stress, anxiety, irritability, or exhaustion.

With attentive embodiment coaching and hands on massage and stretching, these physical limitations can be ameliorated.
