The neurodivergent nervous system can dovetail with chronic illness in ways that profoundly affect both physical and mental health. ADHD folks describe their nervous systems as “running hot” — living with a higher baseline of activation, always revving just a little faster. But energy fades by 3:00pm and the pull to coffee or sugar is real. This cycle of overdrive and collapse can contribute to burnout.
When the nervous system is already working hard to manage
ADHD,
chronic pain,
fatigue,
dysautonomia,
POTS,
long covid or
auto-immune conditions,
our window of tolerance may become narrower. Everyday demands that seem manageable to others can require significantly more energy, making it easier to tip into stress, anxiety, irritability, or exhaustion.
With attentive embodiment coaching and hands on massage and stretching, these physical limitations can be ameliorated. Through an integrative approach, using Shiatsu, therapeutic yoga, and chi gong, and other Chinese Medicine principles, Joni helps build greater flexibility and capacity. Her sessions help you feel good in your body again.
Every treatment is custom designed to meet you where you are—supporting nervous system regulation, easing you out of fight, flight, or freeze, amplifying your own body’s unwinding processes which land you in balance, ease, lightness, and flow. Rooted in decades of practice as a Shiatsu therapist, yoga teacher, and meditation student, Joni draws from a diverse toolkit, tailoring each session to support your body's innate capacity for balance, vitality, and wellbeing.

We all know deep down peace isn't something we think our way into—it begins in the nervous system, and yet we live chronically dysregulated. With our vitality and natural delight diminished, we don’t feel at home in our bodies. We tire more easily. It’s difficult to find that wholesome easy happiness that was the baseline as a youngster. Chronic stress can creep up through work life/home life and manifest itself in many ways. After work Netflix becomes the choice over dancing. “You don’t stop dancing cause you grow old, you grow old because you stop dancing” (George Bernard Shaw).
In Chinese medicine the body and mind are inseparable: when we are out of balance that manifests in the physical body as:
